- FROM THE INCLINE COLLECTION A truly magnificent GEM example of this scarce over mintmark variety. The D is very clearly punched over an errant S, with the upper curve of the S to the left of the D. Bold nickel silver luster amplifies the pale champagne-rose tones over very minimally marked surfaces, none of these marks are seen without the aid of a strong glass. Well struck with some minor weakness on Monticello's central step details, but the strike is bolder than usually seen. PCGS 4, NGC 5. Only one PCGS-graded example has ever sold via auction, realizing $2,585 back in October 2016. The current PCGS value is $3,400. There is a single MS67+ graded higher, which has never sold in auction before. Worthy of placement in another WORLD CLASS set, and this one will be fought over! Good luck! Cert.
