- 1865 Silver Three-Cent Piece. MS-67 (NGC). A captivating Superb Gem that exhibits subtle semi-reflective tendencies to overall satin surfaces. Lightly toned in champagne-gold, this fully struck and aesthetically pleasing coin borders on pristine. The trend of limited circulation strike silver three-cent issues that began early in the Civil War reached a low for the era of 8,000 pieces in 1865. Survivors are elusive even in worn condition, while Mint State examples are scarce to rare in all grades. Expertly preserved with outstanding eye appeal, this gorgeous MS-67 is definitely in the latter category and would do justice to the finest numismatic cabinet.
