详细说明: 1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 21-P, W-4920. Rarity-5. Narrow Shield, Curved Plow Beam. EF-45 (PCGS). This satiny, boldly to sharply defined example exhibits golden-brown toning on the obverse, warmer rose-brown patina on the reverse. The latter side is well centered in strike, the obverse drawn trivially to 9 o'clock, but both sides are fully denticulated around the borders. Microporous surfaces reveal areas of shallow pitting in the planchet at the letters SA in CAESAREA and the plow beam on the obverse, also throughout the upper reverse field. There are no marks of note, and the overall quality is superior for a variety that has proven to be far scarcer than Maris believed. The Condition Census listing for Maris 21-P in the 2013 New Jersey copper reference by Siboni, Howes and Ish is comprised of coins with EAC grades of Gem, Unc, EF+, EF+, EF, EF, EF and EF.
