(t) CHINA. Szechuan. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), ND (1901-08). PCGS VF-25. L&M-345a; K-145a; KM-Y-238.2; WS-0734. Wide face dragon. Consistent wear has left its effect on some of the higher points of the design, though much of the details in the dragon's face and scales are still easily discernable. Close inspection reveals a small thin pin scratch at 7 o'clock that pops out when rotating in the light mentioned for accuracy, but is hardly a distraction. Bright pewter gray with a darker backdrop, it is a pleasing piece and excellent for collectors who place a premium on originality. Estimate: $500 - $700.
