A high end, borderline GEM example that boasts fully Prooflike luster and bold brilliant reflection in the fields. You will need your sunglasses to view this beauty! The luster is incredibly brilliant and bold with swirling cartwheels on both sides. The sharply struck design types are thickly frosted and stand out boldly with a dramatic contrast between the devices and the icy mirrored reflection in the fields. With the aid of a strong glass you will find a tiny tick or break in the frost, which is all that keeps this coin from a full GEM grade. The look however is as close to GEM as ANY MS64+ will ever be. PCGS 88, NGC 49, CAC 21. There are just a half dozen graded MS64+ PL at PCGS with just 13 finer in the PL designation. Prior to this coin selling in May 2020 for $15,000, we sold the prior two: one for $17,625 in March 2019 and one in May 2018 for $19,975. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $21,000.
