Following passage of the Bland-Allison Act in 1878, the mints began churning out millions of silver dollars at the expense of the lower denomination coins. In 1879, the mintage of quarters dropped to a mere 13,600. The present coin features a razor sharp strike on both sides, enhanced by a rich mint frost on the devices and intensely brilliant luster in the fields. Virtually untoned, this borderline SUPERB GEM has a fabulous look! PCGS 36, NGC 29. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,250 and the most recent sold in June 2021 for $2,880.
