- 1890 United States Assay Commission Medal. Bronzed Copper. 33 mm. By Charles E. Barber and George T. Morgan. JK AC-33b. Rarity-4. Proof-65 (NGC). Warmly toned in medium and autumn-brown shades, this sharply struck and carefully preserved Gem is lovely. The copper counterpart to the silver impression from these dies offered above, the reverse design of which features the Latin legend LIBRA PROBAT OPUS, or "The Scales Verify The Weight (of the coins)."
