From the Premier Barber Collection. Ex. Young-Dakota Collection. This coin is well deserving of being the finest 1914 graded after 35 years of PCGS being in operation! Sensational mirrors are deep and beam from all over and they boast excellent clarity, cleanliness, and of course have a bold reflection. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a beautiful rolling "watery" look. A mellow layer of totally original lavender/pale olive/soft rose colors blends nicely all over. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have needle sharp strikes. The eye appeal is terrific! Only 425 were minted. PCGS 1, NGC 2, CAC 1. This coin last sold in our December 2016 Regency auction, where it realized $17,038. PCGS has been in operations 35+ years and no other has been graded to date.
