详细说明: 1857 Braided Hair Cent. N-3. Rarity-5-. Small Date. Proof-63 BN (PCGS). These dies were used to produce proofs of this final year of issue of the large Cent. The color is a mix of light-brown and tan with darker brown areas on the lower reverse. Early proofs from this period are all scarce to extremely rare, with paltry mintages and high attrition rates. The year 1857 is particularly significant as large copper Cents were struck only in January, including some proofs, this marking the end of the format.
