MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1859-Pi MC. San Luis Potosi Mint. NGC MS-61. KM-377.12; DP-Pi40 (plate coin). The only mint state example on either the NGC or PCGS population report. EXTREMELYRAREwith only a few pieces known. Vastly superior to most other examples of the date with a strong strike clearly defining the intricate details of the reverse, though the high points of the radiant Phrygian cap are a bit soft. Light attractive mottled patina gives this rarity lots of character sure to see spirited bidding from the advanced collector. Estimate: $4,000 - $5,000.
