- 1930 United States Assay Commission Medal. Bronze. 51 mm. By John R. Sinnock and Adam Pietz. JK AC-74a. Rarity-4. Edge Incuse ROBERT S. GRAHAM. MS-62 (NGC).
Both sides exhibit dominant golden-brown color, with considerable toning in warmer olive-gray.
This is an historic Assay Commission medal from the first year of the Great Depression. Herbert Hoover, whose portrait appears on the obverse, was fated to witness the onset of this challenging era in United States history from the Oval Office.
