- Lot 187 1793 S-2 R4+ Chain AMERICA PCGS graded VF20.Attractive glossy medium olive brown and steel. Hints of mint frost show inside the links of the chain. The surfaces are smooth except for a thin planchet fissure (as struck) from the L in LIBERTY to the rim left of the lower curls. There are some nicks in the hair left of the neck and a rim bruise well left of the L in LIBERTY. The reverse is absolutely choice in every respect. LDS, Breen state II, with die clashmarks on the obverse and an obvious wave through the bottom of the 793. The date is clear and the legends are strong. A very nice Chain AMERICA cent in spite of the thin planchet flaw. Our grade is the same as the PCGS grade.The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 7 finer at PCGS for the variety.Estimate Value $18,000 - UP Les Heilbronner Collection 1988-Les Heilbronner Estate.
