- 1739/7-A Sou Marque. Paris Mint. Vlack-17, var. First Semester. EF-45 (PCGS). 27.9 grains. An interesting variety, unlisted in Vlack, with the final digit 9 over a 7 and the adjacent 3 seemingly over a 4. Moderate planchet striations with rich golden-gray toning to nearly full silvering. A tad soft in isolated peripheral areas, but with all design elements fully appreciable, and most bold to sharp. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
