- Jefferson nickels from the 1950s and 1960s are remarkably RARE in GEM with full step striking definition--and the presently offered 55-D is no different. Graded among the finest at PCGS, there are 10 in 65 and only three finer. Not only are they rare, they are rarely offered. The present GEM offers bold luster, and clean and totally original surfaces. Here is another conditionally very rare Jefferson nickel that will delight any advanced collector. PCGS 10, NGC 0. The most recent PCGS example sold in a December 2015 for $3,055. Prior to that, one sold in September 2015 for $4,465. The current PCGS Price Guide lists a value of $4,750.
