详细说明: Rare Mint State 19187-D Buffalo Nickel 1918/7-D Buffalo Nickel. FS-101. MS-61 (NGC). A highly significant offering, this is a rare Mint State survivor for an overdate variety that is scarce even in the lowest circulated grades. Bathed in warm copper-gray patina, the surfaces also possess full mint luster in a billowy satin texture. Striking detail is impressive with bold to sharp detail throughout and a clear, readily appreciable 7 underdigit. Smooth enough to suggest a higher Mint State rating, this coin is sure to elicit strong bids from astute collectors. The authors of the excellent reference Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins(2015 edition) describe the 1918/7-D Buffalo as a "very rare overdate." David W. Lange (The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels, Second Edition) expands on this theme when he states:"The 1918/7-D overdate certainly rivals the 1916/1916 and 1937-D 3-leg nickel for the title of most popular and highly sought variety in the [Buffalo] series. Though discovered as long ago as 1931, it still remains scarce." Uncirculated survivors are particularly elusive, as related above, and certainly qualify as rare from a market availability standpoint.
