Attention Peace dollar Registry Set collectors! If you are looking to put your set on another level, you need to buy this tied for FINEST GRADED, borderline SUPERB GEM and put it in your set. This is a WORLD CLASS example of this KEY date issue! EVERYTHING about it is fantastic! Only 360,649 were struck, the lowest mintage in the series, and popular as such. While always considered a KEY date, they are somewhat available (at a price) in all grades up to MS65; MS66s are RARE and at this LOFTY state of preservation, PCGS has graded just two, with NONE FINER. A blazing mint luster swirls all over both sides of this Premium "+-graded" GEM; as brilliant as a 1925! This coin is stunning in its bold, untoned, silver vibrance and glittering sheen that is enlivened by sweeping, rolling cartwheels. An exacting blow from the dies rendered the details crisply, with the hair strands and feathers well defined. There is a tiny planchet flake on Liberty's neck (as made) and a few of the tiniest microscopic ticks noted for accuracy, but these have minimal impact on the outstanding quality and eye appeal. PCGS 33, NGC 9, CAC 7. There are two reported at PCGS in MS66+ with NONE FINER. Neither MS66+ has ever sold in auction.
