FROM THE WOLVERINE COLLECTION. Another magnificent GEM that is TIED FOR FINEST GRADED at PCGS! Deeply reflective, watery mirrors gleam and beam from all over in the fields. The surfaces are essentially flawless showing off a wonderful crimson and brick red coloration on both sides, which is somewhat mellow on the obverse. There is a trace of pale, olive green that appears at certain angles when rotated in a light. The devices are razor sharp in definition. We note a tiny fleck on Liberty's cheek bone. This GEM is housed in an old green tag holder with an Eagle Eye seal. The eye appeal is very good. PCGS 3, NGC 1. This is the coin that sold for $9,200 in April 2009. The most recent coin to sell was the CAC-approved coin that sold in June 2015 for $11,750. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $15,500.
