- Ex Gerald R. Forsythe Collection, as noted on the insert. What a neat Liberty nickel pattern! Struck in nickel with a plain edge, the obverse shows Barber's Liberty Head with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around, date below. Reverse shows FIVE at the top, CENTS at the bottom, 50 N. 50C. within a wreath in two lines with stars at the edge. A Rarity-5, with 31-75 estimated in all grades (the combined PCGS and NGC Population/Census figures come to 43 in all grades, no doubt including duplication). Icy nickel silver surfaces gleam with intense reflection. At first glance the surfaces are brilliant but as you twirl the reflective mirrors in the light a dusting of the palest blue and rose toning comes out, giving this GEM a great look and attests to the originality. There is a rich frost on the well struck devices, which contrasts nicely against the surrounding fields. PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. This is the ONLY CAM to ever sell in auction, realizing $7,800 in October 2019; the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,500. A GEM of the first order, this coin will end up in another fabulous collection of Liberty nickel patterns. Good luck Cert. Number 37140110 PCGS # 389317
