- SOUTH AFRICA. 6 Pence, 1895. NGC MS-61. KM-4; Hern-Z14. Housed within an older NGC holder. While not the lowest mintage, the catalog value pulls away from the pack in uncirculated, with the 1895 having the highest mint state valuation in Krause for the type. Quite solid for the grade with the sculptural qualities of the portrait accentuated by the mostly brilliant surfaces. A few light marks in the fields that require magnification to detect; all told a highly desirable example of this conditionally scarce date. Estimate: $700 - $1,000. NGC MS-61.
