IRELAND. Limerick. Siege 1/2 Penny, 1691. James II. NGC VF-35. S-6594; KM-108. "N" reversed in "HIBERNIA". Overstruck on an earlier large size gunmoney shilling dated Feb: 1689. Clear details of the under type present on both obverse and reverse with the most pertinent aspect "Feb:" blended with the back of the bust into the open field. A handsome example, displaying a lovely brassy chocolate on the high points and parts of the open fields coupled with rich brown amongst the devices. Estimate: $70 - $100.
