- 1889 Inaugural Centennial medal. Seal of New York City by George T. Morgan. First obverse. Musante GW-1126, Douglas-42. Copper, Bronzed. MS-66 (PCGS). 35.1 mm. An exceptional specimen with lovely light mahogany bronze surfaces and tiny traces of brilliant red atop some letters of the legend where the bronzing split during striking. Prooflike in the fields and satiny on the reliefs. A scarce issue in bronze, and probably very rare this fine, as this is nearly pristine. This is the Musante plate piece.
