From the Premier Barber Collection. A very high end example of this conditionally RARE and under rated date. While the New Orleans mint delivered 4,748,000 quarters in 1902, most went right into commerce, where they would remain for a very long time, even "collector" grades (VF/XF/AU) are RARE. This highly lustrous example is well within the Condition Census for the date, and it is an amazing coin with a wicked look! The surfaces are smooth and free of any disturbances on either side. Vividly lustrous, with a radiant satin glow brings out the gold, blue, and iridescent shades. The eye appeal is very high end and cannot be improved! PCGS 11, NGC 1, CAC 6. This is the ONLY MS66+ to ever sell in auction (out of only 3 so graded). In June 2017, this AMAZING GEM sold for $25,850 as part of the Blue Moon Collection, Part II.
