- ONLY 100 PIECES COINED! POP 1 with a CAC sticker! A radiant, deeply mirrored piece which looks nicer than the assigned grade! If not for a couple of mint made lint marks in the right obverse field, this coin would grade higher. Needle sharp motifs, which one would expect from a Proof specimen. Why this date is not multiples of what it trades for is truly a mystery. One of the earliest known Proof issues specifically made for collectors and sold as part of Proof sets of the era. PCGS 14, NGC 5, CAC 1. PCGS Price Guide is $2,250. This coin sold at a Stacks auction in April 2022, for $1,860, but the photograph was unflattering and did not do the coin justice whatsoever.
