详细说明: A MAGNIFICENT GEM from our offering of the Grand Prix Collection, where it was described as: "Ex Bassano Collection. Hailing from one of the greatest specialized collections of Mercury dimes ever sold, the Louis Bassano Collection, this remarkable GEM is a truly special coin. Back in 2000 when it was last sold publicly it was tied for FINEST graded. In the subsequent 18+ years, just three coins have graded higher, all MS66+ FB. Rich orange and crimson-red patina blend with steely-blue pastel iridescence on both sides, blanketing the smooth, GEM quality surfaces. A vibrant luster is not impeded by the bold toning, and has a SUPERB brilliance that glows from below the layers of wonderful color. The devices are very sharp with crisply defined details, especially for the issue. The central bands are fully split and rounded and all the other devices are fully rendered by a complete strike. This was the first MS66 FB listed as having sold in auction, realizing $14,950 in the 2000 ANA auction. No CAC example has sold in auction since April 2012, so ignore the published levels.
