- FRANCE. Bronze Route of Simplon Completion Medal, 1807. By Andrieu. Napoleon I. PCGS SPECIMEN-63 Gold Shield. Bramsen-688. Struck to commemorate the completion of the road over the Simplon pass in the canton of Valais. Laureate bust of Napoleon right, legend around; Reverse: Seated colossal man, busy mountain pass in background. A lovely high relief medal done in fine style with a very interesting and intricate reverse motif. Beautiful rich mottled chocolate and mocha patina engulf the surfaces giving the piece a nice look sure to please. Estimate: $200 - $300. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
