详细说明: 1875 Liberty Quarter Eagle. AU-55 (NGC). This date is one of the classic rarities of the series and an issue which is seldom offered. Only 400 pieces were struck at the Philadelphia Mint, and from that meager issue perhaps 40 to 50 survive today. This high grade example shows virtually complete definition of Liberty's curls as well as fully defined feathers on the eagle's wings and neck. Scattered light nicks from circulation are present when closely examined. Two minute features seen on these rare circulation strike coins are noted -- the first is a faint die crack through the base of the 75 and the second is a fine diagonal die line in the upper right of the shield within the vertical stripes. An important offering for the date specialist and a rare and popular issue that has been hotly pursued for generations by collectors.
