- A very RARE date that is typically seen in very low grade. Only 16,000 quarters were struck, and about 250 survive in all grades today, per PCGS CoinFacts. Its rarity is felt in the AU and Mint State grades, makes the XF45 grade level popular among collectors. Some minor marks from its time in circulation are noted, but the wear is even and the surfaces show no major issues. Soft silver-gray color is pleasing to the eye. PCGS 7, NGC 1. The most recent one to sell brought only $960 in February 2018, but this date's rarity in AU should make this one bring closer to the Collectors Universe value of $1,500.
