- A popular Carson City mint double eagle date in a very popular, collector friendly grade. Moderate but honest, problem free wear is seen on both sides of this Choice VF piece. Traces of luster cling to the protected areas, and there are no serious marks or lines of any kind on this pleasingly patinated example. PCGS 25, NGC 9. There has not been a PCGS VF30 sold in auction since May 2005! The current PCGS Price Guide value is $4,500. This is a very pleasing example that certainly saw commercial action in the wild west.
