- WOW, WOW, WOW! Tied for FINEST graded and this coin is more than deservedly so! Fantastic surfaces are semi prooflike. You don't have to imagine the mirrors. There are just a few tiny, scattered ticks that can only be seen when using a glass. The luster is intense. Both sides are a brilliant yellow gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. You can see light contrast. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do offer pronounced frost. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 8, NGC 4, CAC 1. PCGS and CAC have graded only one finer. The rarity of this date in choice grade cannot be overstated! This coin is perfect for any GEM $2.5 set or box of 20. We just took this coin back in trade (the collector decided not to build an 1871 set). It last sold in our July 2022 Regency sale for $18,212. This coin is irreplaceable! Cert.
