- 1885 Liberty Quarter Eagle. MS-62 DPL (NGC). Prized for its rarity, all 1885 quarter eagles are in demand as the recorded mintage was a mere 800 pieces for the year. Of these perhaps 100 or so are known today in all grades. This particular coin is the onlyexample certified with the Deep Prooflike designation by NGC in any grade, and was likely one of the first struck when the dies had the most polish in the fields. Handsome orange-gold in color with nice surfaces that show minimal signs of handling, keeping the eye appeal high on this rarity. An important offering for the specialist.
