- GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Kings of All England. Penny, ND (ca. 1059-62). Steyning Mint; Diorman, moneyer. Edward the Confessor. PCGS AU-58. S-1182; BMC-828. Hammer Cross (BMC xi.a) type. Obverse: EΛDPΛR--RD RE Λ, crowned and draped bust right; scepter to right; Reverse: + DIORMΛN ΘN STENIG, voided cross, with arms terminating in inward-facing crescents. Deep gunmetal gray surfaces with some alluring darker toning around the devices and very little in the way of actual handling. Estimate: $400 - $600. Provenance: From the Runze Collection.
