详细说明: THE SOMMELIER COLLECTION An early die state of this VERY SCARCE Rarity-4+ die marriage. The striking definition is bold with wonderful depth of detail. To the naked eye, the surfaces are smooth and the coloration is even medium brown. On closer inspection there is a touch of microporosity, which is very common on these early copper pieces especially since the planchet stock was stored in barrels in the humid Philadelphia environment. Overall there is little wear on the highest points and the eye appeal is quite nice. PCGS 3, NGC 4. The last two AU55s that have sold were both in the January 2014 sale of the Missouri Cabinet Collection (both different die marriages than the current C-5a). We have not been able to locate this one in a previous auction appearance. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $14,500. Prior to the Missouri Cabinet, the only AU55 sold back in 2005.
