- GREAT BRITAIN. Penny, ND (1074-77). London Mint. William I (The Conqueror) (1066-87). PCGS MS-61. S-1254; North-845. Two stars type. Moneyer Godwine. Crowned facing bust of William flanked by stars, with legend +PILELM REX A; Reverse: Cross botonnee over quadrilateral with incurved sides and center annulet, legend +GODPI ON LVND. From the time of the Norman Conquest. The only piece seen at PCGS. Essentially as stuck with a deep amalgam of dark color tone, nearly perfect centering and with bold legends and portrait.
