- MEXICO. Numismatic Society of Mexico 50th Anniversary Medal Struck in Gold, 2002-Mo. PCGS SP-69 Secure Holder. 47 mm; 86.31 gms. Reported mintage of only 4 pieces struck in gold. As such presumably EXTREMELY RARE. The obverse features a rendition of an earlier Numismatic Society of Mexico medal in frosted relief on a mirror-like field which is inscribed with the Mexico City Mint Mark and "PRIMUM NUMISMA AMERICAE"; Reverse: "50" at center with legend "SOCIEDAD NUMISMATICA DE MEXICO, A. C." above, "1952 - 2002 QUINCUAGESIMO ANIVERSARIO" below in two-lines, with the 0 of 50 being represented by a rendition of the first Mexican Numismatic Society medal.
