- 1839 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-13. Rarity-2. Booby Head. MS-65 BN (PCGS). A fantastic and essentially untouched Gem displaying rich chocolate brown shades. Tinges of crimson luster remain in the protected areas and speak to the overall exceptional preservation. Fully lustrous and completely without notable friction. A few specks of lighter patina are scattered throughout, appearing at Liberty's nose, the leaves left of ONE, and the second T of STATES. The dies are well worn, displaying strong flowlines in this late state of Noyes Die State A/B. A crack passes through the ES of STATES towards the rim above OF which was familiar to Wright but unseen by Noyes in the N-13 marriage. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection.
