1805 Capped Bust Right Half Eagle. BD-2. Rarity-4. AU-55 (NGC). The obverse and reverse show handsome greenish-gold to copper-gold patina and subtle luster within the fields. Boldly struck throughout--which is something to say as the obverse die has several thin die cracks and considerable evidence of clashing. Full breast feathers are present on the eagle and stars ar all sharp. Close examination of the obverse finds shallow adjustment marks on the rim and a few others in areas, but quite light. In addition there are some pin scratches in the obverse fields and faint hairlines. Certainly most collectors will enjoy the ample and historic charm of such a coin, as will be evident by those who take time to study the quality offered.
