RUSSIA. Ruble, 1741-CNB. Ivan VI (1740-41). NGC VF-25. KM-207.2; Dav-1676; Bit-26; Diakov-17. Legend ends below order. Single year issue for the Tsar who never ruled. Ivan IV (Ioann III) was the heir apparent upon birth, and was proclaimed emperor in 1740. Within a year he was overthrown by Elizabeth and imprisoned thereafter. He was eventually killed by his guards during a melee intended to free him from prison at the age of 23 in 1764. The piece up for bid is a solid, problem free circulated piece with even gray toning.
