- GUATEMALA. Silver Medallic 2 Reales, 1837. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. Fonrobert-7227. 6.78 grams. Obverse: Standing figure right, holding pomegranate and two snakes; EL PUEBLO JUEZ above; Reverse: Scales and sword resting on alter with eye; above JUICIO POR JURADOS. Struck during the Central American Republic period in celebration the legal reforms of 1837 after an indigenous revolt. Well struck with significant flash in the fields and light tone. Among the finest observed of this attractively illustrated type. Estimate: $200 - $400.
