THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION PART II A frosty and VERY CHOICE Civil War issue. One of the few issues struck at the southern branch mints before the war began (and half dollars continued to be struck after the New Orleans mint was taken over by rebel forces. Nicely struck devices are surrounded by boldly lustrous, satiny fields that gleam with a strong mint vibrance. Virtually untoned, this is a very appealing example of this historic date. PCGS 35, NGC 27, CAC 14. The last PCGS/CAC piece sold nearly five years ago, so clearly they do not appear with any real frequency.
