Sitting just below the apex of the Population Report, the presently offered 1845 half dime is tied with perhaps five other MS67s and only a single MS67+ is finer. Everything about this coin is spectacular! Richly toned fields have a brilliant satin frost that just glows from below the color providing an exceptional eye appeal. The devices are fully struck up, and razor sharp in definition, and the surfaces of this tiny jewel are unmarred, as you would expect in this lofty numeric grade and CAC approval. PCGS 6, NGC 4, CAC 4. This is NOT the coin sold in June 2011, the only CAC-approved example we can find in our auction database. That coin sold for $4,888; nor is it either of the two Gardner coins. The current Collector's Universe value is $4,000, and as the most common of the half dimes of the 1840s, this coin is especially well suited for a world class type set! Cert.
