A beautifully preserved SUPERB GEM example of this late date Seated Liberty quarter. Because the business strike mintage was only 8,000, many collectors in the past opted for a GEM PROOF example for their sets. This beautiful example has deep watery mirrors that beam from all over on both sides. A cool, icy blue tone is thickly draped on both the fields and the sharply struck devices. The devices show partial contrast between the frost and the mirrored reflection of the fields. Only 875 Proofs were struck. PCGS 10, NGC 19, CAC 3. This is the only CAC-approved example to sell in auction, realizing nearly $3,900 back in our October 2017 sale. Before that, a non-CAC example sold for $9,360 in September 2017. This exceptionally eye appealing Proof should bring more than the published price guide values. Only three are graded finer in the non-CAM designation. Bid accordingly! Cert.
