详细说明: A RARE and UNDERRATED date in the $5 Liberty series. This well struck and somewhat lustrous $5 has rich golden surfaces with an orange-honey hue. Close inspection does reveal some minor marks and ticks, but they do not affect the eye appeal. Housed in an old green tag holder. David Akers wrote of this date: "It may come as a surprise to some that the 1859-S ranks in the top 10% of the entire $5 series in rarity according to number of appearances at auction. In my 337 catalogue survey, this grossly underrated date appeared only 23 times. I have seen very few specimens of this date, none better than EF and only two or three at that level." PCGS 3, NGC 1. This is NOT the one that sold for $3,819 in January 2013. The current CU value is listed at $6,250. In XF45, a PCGS coin sold last year for $4,935. This one could bring a similar result today!
