- GREAT BRITAIN. James II Silver Coronation Medal, 1685. PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield. Eimer-273; MI-I, 605/5. The official coronation issue by J. Roettier. Obverse: Laureate, draped and armored bust of James II right; Reverse: Laurel wreath on cushion, hand extending from cloud on top holding crown. Sharply detailed and flashy in the fields with a faint dove-gray patina that adorns both sides. Highly desirable as the only Mint State example thus far certified at PCGS. Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
