FROM THE BEAR CREEK COLLECTION While generally available in circulated grades, the 1843 dollar becomes quite difficult to find in Mint State. Boasting a semi-reflective luster, and showing off a pleasing steel, gunmetal, dove and dappled gold on either side. The devices are pleasingly well struck, with just a touch of weakness seen in the typical places on the obverse. The reflective texture of the fields amplify the scattered ticks, lines, and other tiny marks that account for the assigned grade. PCGS 11, NGC 22. The present coin is the most recent example to sell in auction bringing $2,233 in February 2016, a weak market. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,850. A neat collector coin. Cert.
