- A high end PR64 Bailly Head Trade dollar pattern that has distinct claims to a full GEM classification. Liberty's head faces left with stars around. Her hair is tied in an intricate bun and wears a crown of leaves. The reverse is William Barber's Standing Eagle, holding a shield. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM above. Struck in silver, with a reeded edge. Considered to be Rarity-4. Deeply and richly toned with shades of pale blue, lilac, and pewter with accents of amber on the reverse. The fields have a watery reflective brilliance that contrasts against the devices. The reverse shows some weakness on the reverse, which is typical of the type, rarely are they fully struck in the centers. The eye appeal is excellent in every way. PCGS 10, NGC 8, CAC 1. No CAC-approved example sold in auction, but a PCGS PR64 sold in April 2020 for $5,640 and a PCGS PR65 CAC sold for $14,400 in April 2018. We know this coin will bring close to the Collectors Universe value of $7,000. RARE any finer, this near-GEM will delight any collector. Cert. Number 44584730 PCGS # 61566
