Despite a mintage of 73,640,100 pieces, the 1961 nickel is a major condition rarity, regardless of designation. This SUPERB coin shows better definition than most with decent details on Monticello's steps and other structural details. Highly lustrous and the surfaces are essentially flawless. Among the ten highest graded at PCGS, this coin is worthy of a great set. PCGS 11, NGC 43. Much sharper than the Buddy Byers coin that sold for $720 in the 2021 ANA auction.
