- 1856-S Liberty Head Eagle. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. Exceptionally lustrous for the grade with overall sharp striking detail. Vivid deep honey-apricot color enhances the appeal of this premium quality Choice AU eagle. A scarce to rare issue in all grades, most of the 68,000 eagles struck in the San Francisco Mint during 1856 have long since been lost to commercial use.
