THE XANNO COLLECTION Despite a huge mintage well in excess of 23 million pieces, the 1884 cent is very RARE in GEM RED grades, and excessively so graded any higher than the presently offered MS66 RD. A blazing red luster has accents of gold and magenta iridescence on both sides, accenting the sharply struck up details. The surfaces are free of distracting marks or flecks, and the eye appeal cannot be beat! WOW. PCGS 17, NGC 5. Two examples sold in 2021, one for $4,560 in April and the other for $4,320 in August. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,250. There are six graded finer at PCGS, none have sold since 1996! This GEM is worthy of another great set. Good luck. Cert.
