1870 Pattern Dime. Judd-827, Pollock-917. Rarity-7. Proof-64 RB (PCGS). A prize rarity that boasts a modest certified population of eight pieces. The obverse depicts Liberty seated and facing left, supporting a pole with cap and shield with her right hand, her left holds a laurel branch. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds her with the date below. On the reverse the open wreath of agricultural products with 10 CENTS within and STANDARD above. Handsome faded mint red throughout with a couple of minor specks from carbon, the strike is crisp and complete. Struck in copper with a plain edge.
