Cohen-1, Breen-1. Rarity-1. Soft original satin sheen brings out the subtle steely accents among the chocolate brown color that dominates both sides. A later die state, which shows lapping on both sides, a process that was employed to remove mint made clash marks, resulting in weakness near the rims. The central portions of the design are generally very well struck. PCGS 4, NGC 2, CAC 5.This coin last sold for a hair short of $10,000, in a weak market (January 2015). Earlier, a non-CAC NGC coin sold for $10,925 and the current Collectors' Universe value is listed at $9,500. A great type coin or a great coin for any high end early half cent collection. This coin is superb! There are only two coins finer (both MS64 BN), including the Missouri Cabinet- Pogue coin that sold for $37,600 in March 2017. Cert. Number 25636387 PCGS # 1104
